    Butler / East Gaston / Hopewell scrimmages

    Game 1 : Butler 12 East Gaston 0
    Game 2 : ?
    Game 3 : Hopewell 10 Butler 1

    These are approximate guesses on scores. All three teams shuffled players often and took extra looks at younger players. (true scrimmage) Butler and Hopewell had their moments, did not see game 2 between Hopewell and East Gaston although I saw East score 3 runs late on Hopewell. Butler's Dalton Eisenbath has a nice first game with the only home I saw and 5 rbi's in 3 at bats early in game 1. The weather could not have been better as well as the condition of Butler's field. Looking forward to the rest of the season. It's always nice playing teams out of conference... Till March 1....

    I have neglected to than Mincmi for the Southwestern 4A website and all the work that goes into his reports. He keeps all of us updated on what is year in and year out the best baseball conference around. Its better than many college conference websites. Thanks again.

    By the way, gotta make a shoutout to a former SW4A school, West Charlotte. They won another state basketball title last weekend. Go Lions!

    Providence out scored Myers Park and Butler 27-2 this week - wow!

    :fryingpan: If the pitching and infield improve, this team could be special.

    Team Batting Average, Runs scored


    Maybe Mincmi can chime in on this, but I wonder what the highest team batting average and runs scored per game in the SW4A? This may be the best team Providence has ever fielded. I don't know if anyone in the state can beat them.

    Seems like this season is full of high powered hitters with all the HR's showing up on TBR, with The Potent Powerful Prolific Panthers at the top of the HR Heap.

    PHS is certainly a great hitting team, but I'd take a great pitching and defensive team in a state run. Not to say that Coach Hignight won't get them there, but they still need work.

    Doin the job

    PHS's dealers are hanging tough - that gang over at Bulldog country can swing it pretty darn well and to hold them to a duece is pretty strong. Facing "the row" is a challenge from top to bottom with no fall-off.
