    East Wake

coach....Based on the standing in the N&O, East Wake is 3-1 in the Greater Neuse Conf. and 5-2 overall. It looks like they have one game from last week where the score hasn't been reported. Sanderson doesn't play them this year, so I haven't seen them to really give you any info.

    Pitcher at East Wake

Coach - does the name Johanthan Aparico sound familiar? I see he plays for the Cubs Showcase team and has comitted to ECU as a Class of 2012 member. I checked the East Wake baseball roster and did not see his name. I have no idea what he is up to at this time.

I believe your team faced him in the Bobby Murray Championship game back in 2009. I saw you at your finest at that game!

Sanderson gave one away today against Wake Forest-Rolesville. Up 5-2 going into the bottom of the 7th, a lead off hit was followed by an error on a one hopper back to the pitcher and a hit batter. WFR took adavantage with a 2 run single and a fielders choice to the tie the game. Sanderson turned a double play to get out of the inning and send it to the 8th. The Cougars took advantage of another hit batter in the bottom of the 8th to push across the winning run for a 6-5 win. The Spartans left 10 men on base today...unable to come up with the big hit to blow the game open.

Other scores in the Cap 8 today:

    Wakefield over Enloe 7-1
    Leesville over Millbrook 7-2
    Broughton over Heritage 10-1

    Cap 8 standings thru 3/29:

Wakefield 4-1 (lost to Millbrook, beat Sanderson, Leesville, WFR, and Enloe)
Broughton 4-1 (lost to Leesville, beat Millbrook, Enloe, WFR, and Heritage)
Sanderson 3-2 (lost to Wakefield and WFR, beat Heritage, Millbrook, and Leesville)
Leesville 3-2 (lost to Wakefield and Sanderson, beat Broughton, Enloe, and Millbrook)
WFR 3-2 (lost to Broughton and Wakefield, beat Enloe, Heritage, and Sanderson)
Millbrook 2-3 (Beat Wakefield and Heritage, lost to Sanderson, Leesville, and Broughton)
Heritage 1-4 (new school, team composed of all freshmen and sophomores)
Enloe 0-5 (lost twice in extra innings)

Looks to be a very balanced league...at least so far....going to be quite a fight for the playoff spots. Based on the current weather conditions and the forecast for the next couple of days, it looks like tomorrow's games may be washed out. Depending on when the make ups are scheduled, the pitching depth for a number of teams could be tested if you suddenly have 3 conference games in one week.

Looks like everything in this area is going to a wash out today. With over an inch of rain yesterday, you will probably need a boat to play on most the fields around here. :mdrmed:

    Arm troubles

From what I have heard he has had arm issues the last 2 seasons. I believe he had surgery last season and had another issue this season. He was one of the best players as a freshman that i had seen play in a long time. Wish him the best

the Kid is now at Bunn

Found out today that he is now at Bunn High School. Not playing again this season again due to arm problems with the opposite arm he had trouble with last season
