Pitt is on a horrendous run having lost 8 games in a row. They will need to pull themselves together quickly to challenge for any post season participation. Sorry to report that they lost a key pitcher this weekend in Ryan McCallen. McCallen, who is coming back from Tommy John surgery, apparently reinjured his elbow during his start on Saturday. they may be down to about 9 pitchers now.

Pitt had a total of 4 hits for two games Sunday. Unfortunately for them, they ran into a very hot Fire Ant team that is on a roll right now. USC Sumter plays a big 4 game series this weekend with SMC at Riley Park!

Hopefully for McCallen they will find it's just scar tissue. I'm not sure how long ago he had his surgery, but if he is just getting back that may be what happened. It would be extremely odd that he would have problems with the elbow except for scar tissue (It can be terribly painful, but actually helps the healing process.).

Makes a lot of sense now that you said they are having pitching issues. Sundays first game, Pitt let their starting pitcher continue to pitch even when they were down 9 -0! The game only went five innings but none the less the starting pitcher was taken out of the ball game after he loaded the bases in the bottom of the Fifth, then the next batter hit a walk-off GS! That will destroy your ERA in a hurry! Hey Braves, between TJ and Michael, we're all too familiar with TJ surgery, huh?

Misread the above post in haste. Yes, Pitt had some pitching issues this series.
