Charlotte Country Day 9...Myers Park 3

    CCDS…110 032 2.....9..13...0
    M.Park 000 011 1 ....3...6...4

    Pitching:

    CCDS William Frazier 6.1 IP, 5H, 3R, 2ER, 5K, 2BB WP (6-0)
    CCDS Lee Harrison .2 IP, 1H, 0R, 0ER, 0K, 0BB
    M.Park Matt Hedburg 5 IP, 8H, 5R, 4ER, 3K, 0BB LP

    Hitting:

CCDS Patrick Langdon 3-4, (2) doubles
CCDS Tyler Holloway 3-4, double, RBI
CCDS Brain Duncan 1-2, double, 2RBI
    CCDS William Frazier 2-4, RBI
MPark Tyler Powell 1-3, HR, RBI
    MPark Gau 2-3

The Bucs started off nicely in the Jack Sink tournament with a solid win vs. the host Myers Park Mustangs. Country Day got a very solid effort from William Frazier, who was perfect through three innings, surrendered his first hit in the 4th inning and his first run in the 5th inning. Lee Harrsion came on in the 7th inning to record the last two outs of the game. The Bucs were again attacking offensively, with extra base hits, timely RBIs, sac bunts and sac flys, all coming at the right time. Defensively, the Bucs played error-free ball and recorded a pickoff at first. Juniors Patrick Langdon and Tyler Holloway continued to swing heavy lumber in the middle of the lineup, both going 3-4, with Langdon doubling twice and Holloway once. Frazier helped himself out at the plate going 2-4 with an RBI and junior catcher Brian Duncan ripped a 2 RBI double to plate the last 2 runs of the game for the hot-hitting Buccaneers. Country Day plays South Meck on Wednesday afternoon. The Bucs got to 17-1 for the season and 6-0 in conference play.

    Boycott or By Design????

Rumored at the fields today.....Charlotte Country Day and Providence Day will not be attending the home run derby or the team recognition tomorrow night.

    Real or rumor???

    Why????

Seems like a good cause (ALS) - was it something Lou Gehrig said?

    South Meck VS Providence Day

I can't possiibly do this game justice, but here is the rough draft version. South is up 10-0 in the 4th, Jonas Heidenrich has a no no going for South. 8 innings later South won 14-13 in 12 innings. PD had bases loaded one out in the 12th, before Tim Youtsey struck out the last two batters.

Way tooooo many hits, and details for me.

    what a game.

Somebody for Providence Day cranked a grand slam over the 400 ft sign at Myers Park HS...I understand he was a 9th grader.

    Charlotte Christian 3...Providence 2

Charlotte Christian and Providence tangled in a tight and well played game. Griffin Gum (UAB) provided the ultimate winning runs with a 2-run HR that left the park in a hurry. Providence battled back and plated two runs but left a couple on in their rally inning. The Christian pitcher, McCreary, battled all night long and used a slow curve effectively against the hard-swinging Panthers. Gum also displayed a very strong arm on a tag play on a deep fly to right center, throwing the ball all the way to 3rd base on the fly and on the bag to miss the runner by a second.
