    From the Salisbury Post, JMR beat Cox Mill 8-4, MP beat Central 13-3. Wednesday's match ups are MP vs. HR at 4:30 followed by NW vs. JMR at 7pm. Both games are at NW. There will also be a play-in game between CC and CM for the #5 seed. Not sure of when or where but will try to find out something.

    Just curious and it da** sure dont matter to me, but why is there a play-in game?

    Thought this was discussed last week, and NCHSAA rules are clear concerning ties and who gets the final playoff seed.

    Here's the quick explanation of the Cox Mill/Central Cabarrus tie-breaker and why we're having a play-in game.

    -The tie-breaker for the conference tournament seeding goes head to head, if split series (CM1-Central 1), who won a non-conf matchup (didn't play), then which team beat the highest seeded team (CM Beat #1 NW, Central beat #3 Hickory Ridge)...thus Cox Mill gets the #5 seed for the tourney.

    -The tie-breaker for state tourney is different...you go Head to head (CM 1, Central 1), who won a non-conf matchup (didn't play)....Then you go to which team went further in the conference tourney (CM and Central both eliminated in 1st round)...if tie is still not broken, then there will be a "Play-In" game with the winner advancing to the State Tourney as the #5 seed from the SPC...this is according to the conference by-laws

    With that being said...Cox Mill vs. Central Cabarrus, 4:30pm @ NW Cabarrus this Thursday (April 5th) preceding the Conference Tourney Championship game. Best of luck to both teams

    I think thats the only way to handle it... on the field. Great job by both schools this year, best of luck to both.

    Northwest field will be tough to play on..........maybe they will have to forfeit!!!

    Usually if it rains a drop, then NW is postponed for 3 days,,,,,,,,,, but I just spoke with someone who said they ARE playing today.

    ..... I believe thats what he said, truthfully I was mainly calling about the hotdogs. :banana:

    WOW, after that downpour I figured no way they play today especially at NW! Anybody know pitching matchups?
