    Watauga 1 Saint Stephens 0.
Jacob Hoyle pitched a no hit game against Watauga taking the loss.
Hoyle struck out 9 and walked 3 over 6 innings (not counting the 2 intentional walks). The last inning there were 2 outs when the first batter reached on a close pitch for ball 4. Next there was a passed ball (runner to second) and intentional walk, a noncontested double steal (catcher bobbled the ball) another intentional walk and the winning run scored again on a very close pitch for ball 4.

Man what a game. A no hitter, 1 run game. I always thought Saint was a scrappy team. Watauga is Watauga, they will find a way to win at all cost. Wished I could have been there.

It was a very exciting game both pitchers did outstanding with Jacob Hoyle having the no hitter and 9 ks then Watts for Watauga had 4 hits and 13 ks. I feel like going into the playoffs Hoyle should be the guy getting the game 1 start.

What can you tell us about the run that was taken away from Foard due to an illegal bat? According to Foard's coach, "The bat thing was more motivating than a detriment.” :huh2:

Foard was told the bat was legal on tuesday but on wed a different set of officals said is was not legal. Intead of dwelling on the run that was lost the team scored 2 more runs in the 7th. The team showed a lot of poise, fight and heart to get the win.

Foard was not told the bat was legal the night before. It wasn't checked by the umpires the night before. Who knows how many kids used it. That bat (Stealth Comp) has been illegal all year. Disgusting for a coach to argue that this late in the season and then their fans scream that Hickory was cheating.

    how do you know

How do you know the 1st set of umpires didn't mistakenly say the bat was legal? Were you at the plate meeting?

Yes the coach should know that the bat was illegal, but with all the confusion about bats this year, can you blame him or the kid that used it?
