While this is not how the league coaches select their All-Conference players, here are mine. The player must have logged at least half their league innings at a position to be considered for that position in my selections and you are more than welcome to supply other opinions.

Consideration was given a player that also had significant contributions on the mound as well as his field position. You can use the DH spot freely.

Hard to argue with you. How about Matt Baltimore from Butler as relief pitcher and maybe Logan Sherer from EM as 2nd team catcher. Also, I love Taylor Cook from Indy (maybe as team captain or something). He's the leader for those guys and makes the engine hum for the Patriots.

Like all three of those too, WCLion. Is it not great to have a league that has so many deserving players to be recognized? Logan will be one of the top players in the league next season and Matt will step right into that Bulldog rotation. Taylor has been a bulldog on the mound all season and as pitched a ton of innings for the Patriots.

How about Prestion Tiller - only reason I did not include him was he missed half of the SW4A season.

Call me crazy but you have the Daniels kid as a first team DH and Campana as a second team DH; then I look down and look at the silver slugger list and Campana is on that as the DH. How can a second team DESIGNATED HITTER be ahead of a first team guy when "slugger" which obviously represents hitting the baseball is what the honor is about? Now if bombs is what you are looking at it is justified. Is the silver slugger a "for average" honor or a "power" honor? Just being inquisitive!

    Coach Of the Year

Based on the age of his team, and where they finished in conference, John Tuscan has to recieve heavy consideration for Coach of the Year.

In considering my "All-League" , even though I put David in the DH, I could factor in him playing a surperb SS while Jackson, because of injury, did not get onto the field until late in the season - the same as I gave "extra credit" for field players that also pitch in my considerations.

I did toss back and forth about those two for the SS. Here I tried to just look at hitting. David probably does have a higher average for the season, but I am not sure because I did not see every game. Just thought it was tought to have the guy that is second in HRs in the league not accounted for. I guess I was similar to the NL last season when Joey Votto was MVP of the league and yet Albert Pujols won the SS.

If you have David in your listing, I would not have a problem with that.

Langston Wertz will probably post something soon to let us know, but my guess will be the Saturday edition. The picks have been selected prior to the playoffs.

I think AJ Larson and Logan Ratledge are two of the best HS players in this state and were leaders for their respective teams. However I am somewhat surprised that Brett Austin wasn't selected as a tri-co POY. The kid batted over .500, set a school record in season HR's, emphatically was the team leader, has all the intangibles, and from discussions with the pro scouts will be a 1st round draft pick. I can't imagine one having a better year...and this is not to take away an outstanding performance from the two players selected. They are amazing!

Another tidbit that is interesting about Brett Austin; he is the only player ever in the country that played for the team that won the Perfect Games WS Championship in Atlanta and Jupiter in the same year.
