Tonight Rocky Mount celebrates Senior Night against Northern Nash. A Rocky mount victory would probadly seal 2nd place in the conference for the Gryphons. A Gryphon loss would throw 2nd, 3rd, & 4th into a jumble until the final games Monday night.

    Tough Inning

2-1 Hunt lead to start bottom of the 5th inning. Hunt loads bases on 3 walks and then a wicked line drive strikes RM pitcher in the face. He is taken away in an ambulance and the team can't get over the shock as the bullpen gives up 9 runs for the mercy rule victory!

Pray the facial damage ends up being not as bad as it looked

Wilson Hunt 11 Rocky Mount 1

Deoin Doubledee (3-2) got the W.

Parker Lamm led Hunt at the plate (1-2) with a double & 4 RBI's. I guess he walked twice w/ the bases loaded.

Hunt was outhit 6-4 by the Gryphons but there were 13 walks issued by the Rocky Mount pitchers.
Sam Lilley was the Gryphon pitcher who was injured by the line-drive & I hope & pray everything turns out alright for him. Maybe we'll get an update on his injury today.

    Sam Lilley update

Sam Lilley was at the Rocky Mount game tonight. We are all so grateful that he is going to be ok. Sam has a lot of swelling in his face, but otherwise, he is so very lucky. There appears to be no permanent damage to his eye or his vision. He has a number of stitches in his nose and suffered fractures to his orbital bone (below the eye), his cheekbone and his nasal cavity. After seeing facial specialists and eye specialists in Greenville, he is waiting to see if he will need any sort of surgery to repair fractures to his cheekbone. Fractures to his orbital bones and nasal cavity should heal on their own. Please keep Sam in your prayers going forward!
