What is the right call?

    Batter steps in the box first pitch hits her she is awarded first base. The other teams coach calls time comes out and says they batted out of order, coach looks and yes they did. Umpire calls the girl out that got HBP. The coach says she is the girl that should have batted second the umpire lets the same girl that just got HBP come back to the batters box and hit again. She then hit a homerun. My question is should she not have been out and you go to the next girl in line and the girl you skipped just does not get an at bat?

    It was the right call.

    The out of order batter is given an out and the person rightfully designated to hit next in the line up, hits, even if it is the player just called out.

    As [correction: justsoftball] said the batter who should have batted is called out, and the person who is listed in the line up after the batter who was supposed to bat is the next batter. [added: The play is nullified, and] Any outs made on the play stand. The pitcher missed a good opportunity to plunk the same batter twice.
