Missing Scores, Anybody heard from the following?

    4A Games
-Butler @ Davie (I think someone posted they are finishing Monday)
-Garner @ Pine Forest (I think someone posted this one also resumes Monday)
    -Terry Sanford @ Harnett Central
    -Fuquay Varina @ Riverside
    -Person @ Wakefield

    1A Games
    -Trask @ East Carteret
    -Robbinsville @ Mitchell

-Other than the winners of these games, the second round appears to be all set for Tuesday

Wakefield beat Person 4-3....Game was officially 6 innings. Person had two men on with no outs in the top of the 7th when the floodgates opened, so it reverted back to the last complete inning.

When I first read this comment I almost posted something. Glad I didn't.

Our Ragsdale boys know kids on both teams, including almost everyone on SW. And for the most part they all get along. The benefits of summer ball tears down school rivalries and keeps thing in perspective.

We had a tough year but we are/were young and we will get better. Congrats to SWG on a good season. Hope MO is ok. Good luck to WF in the next round.

That is a tough loss for my friend Dylan Dicken and the Persons High team.. I also think another team loss that way due to the rain. Since all teams have until monday to get the first round games in, i wish they would complete all seven innings in State Playoffs games.

    catcoach and oneputt,

My goodness, just a little ribbing on my part. I hate Ragsdale, always have and always will. I definitely take joy in the fact that they missed the playoffs and that they haven't won a playoff game in several years now.

We had struggles of our own this year and West Forsyth was the better team. I can tip my cap and admit that.

Lastly, don't take my comments to be representative of Southwest as a whole or any of the kids/parents/coaches associated with the team. I'm just one old bitter man that grew up in the days before all this travel ball made everyone in crosstown rivalries all friendly with one another. It's nothing personal, I just will always pull against Ragsdale in every game in every sport.

Hadnt seen it posted yet, but i may have missed it:

Richmond County defeated Green Hope 4-0, scoring all 4 runs in teh first inning. Green Hope had more baserunners throughout the game, but never got a run across.

A 90 minutes rain delay almost ended the game in the 6th, but after dragging the field several times, the final 1 2/3 innings were played

I believe Richmond will play Wakefield next round, if im not mistaken

    No way to finish

Person lost a heartbreaker but I would like to clear a fews things that happened.

First, no umpires were there Friday night to start with. Had to wait until nearly 8:00PM for the game to start. Got only half a inning in before the rain came. Had a very little rain but alot of lightning. Was over around 9:45PM and then they called the game. Should have played Friday night.

Second, scheduled the Sat. start at 3:00pm. Don't know why they didn't start earlier. Like 1pm.

Third, Other teams have not finished there first round game and are waiting until Monday to finish. Why can't we finish this game? Only 1 ending left. It is a 4-3 game in favor of Wakefield, but we have runners on 1st and 2nd and no outs in top of 7th ending.

Would not take it representative of the SWG staff, as Coach Holmes is as class as they come.

Further, I even think all the "buddy-buddy" is overblown nowadays. I have trouble getting signs to baserunners sometimes because they are too busy yucking it up with infielders. Some healthy hatred is OK - just as long as it's left inside the lines when the last out is recorded.

Truthfully, I can associate your feelings to mine for everything "baby blue". I hate the heels. I can even admit there are some HS programs that make it harder to like them. (Some may say that for mine.) Either way, just wouldn't have commented as such where high school kids and good people like Putt are concerned.

    All good here...
