    Catholic/Carson

Good question. This is a rematch from last year's 2nd round -- which Catholic won in a very tight well-played game. Catholic is a strong defensive team with good pitching and is led by a solid core of 11 seniors. I was impressed with Carson last year but have not seen them this season. However, I do agree that this may well be the best game of the second round. The big game atmosphere and large crowds at Catholic's new stadium (Jack D. Hughes) will add to the fun.

Catholic is a very good team and playing at home, so it will be tough for Carson. However Carson just went on the road and beat (possibly) the hottest team in this area in Mt.Pleasant.

I always pull for my locals, so Go Carson!!!

"Catholic is a very good team"

At some point, Catholic's very weak schedule will catch up to them. (It almost did in the first round) For all the publicity they are getting from the Observer, it is never mentioned that they play in an awful baseball conference and their non conference schedule is not strong either. West Meck tied with them for the conference title (and was also highly praised in the Observer) and they got blasted by a .500 in the first round of the playoffs.

I don't know much about Catholic but I do know that this bunch from Carson is a good team. Their win last week, while surprising, was no fluke. I think they will do it again!

Your post is negative about Catholic, the Observer, the conference and West MECK. Do you have any nice comments about anything?:beatdeadhorse5::beatdeadhorse5:

What did I say that wasn't true ? As for my "team", I don't really have one. I moved down here a few years ago and I will say that because of where I live I follow the south Charlotte and Union county areas closest. Regardless, again what did I say that wasn't true ?

This has the makings of a good game. While Carson comes from a traditionally stronger conference, never underestimate the power of a team with 11 seniors. This could be a year where they make a run at things. Both teams will get to throw their #1's again tonight because of the extra day, so it should be a tight low-scoring game like last year.
