Cardinal Gibbons 10, Southern Lee 1. Eastern 3A lower bracket. Sean Brassington to 2-0. So much for you guys who think below .500 teams should not be in the playoffs.:SPcheer006cheerbril

Cardinal Gibbons has to be solid. I have not seen them play in a couple of years, but they came in third behind Chapel Hill and Webb, two very solid clubs with decent arms that generally can hit the ball 1-9 in the order. The Crusaders also beat Person twice, a very good 4A team with talent on the hill and at the dish.

    DH Conley 7 - Currituck 6 (12 Innings)

Conley trailed 6-2 in the 4th, and scored 4 to tie it in the bottom of the 5th. Neither team scored again until Ryan Gupton got a walkoff single in the bottom of the 12th to score Damien Jenkins.

Jordan Deloatch got the win on the mound, going 8.1 innings in relief, striking out 19 batters.

Conley moves on to the 3rd round, and will host Eastern Wayne Friday night.

Im a bit suprized at the farmville score. I read they walked 10 and hit 4 batters. Pitching must of had a terrible night. I was hoping for a bit deeper run from those kids. ED obvisouly can swing the bats as well.

    Mallard Creek /Hopewell

Fourth time this season these powerhouses go at it. Tonight at the Creek. Word is Michael Boles will toe against Hunter Conley. Should be a good one.
    .....I will be there!!...:woohoo:

Actually I heard the match up is Justin Hammond vs. Boles on the hill. The same two as the final season match up when Hammond threw a 55 pitch complete game one-hitter. Missed a perfect game by one pitch for a 13-1 win. Should be a great game.
