    Catholic/Carson

Another great outing from Daniel Stewart of Catholic as the Cougars won 6-2 in front of another packed house at "Jack D" in Pineville. Catholic had huge RBI hits from Eddie Hull, Danny Ryan, and Michael Crowley to send them into the 3rd round. Marvin Ridge comes calling on Friday night in what should be the game of the year in these parts!!

No, havent heard an East Rowan score yet,,,,,,,,,,, I chose the NW Cabarrus/Parkwood game and NW simply ran into a great pitcher tonite (sorry didnt get his name) and lost to Parkwood 5-2. Kid (#2) looked great on the mound,,, hence one and done for NW. Btw NW had a great year and have some great juniors who will make them strong again next year. Congrats to Parkwood as a whole. Game was over in 1 hour 30 mins.

    ER Vs Weddington

ER is a very good team. Tonight however, they ran into a pitcher who refused to lose. Jordan Newsome has been lights out all year long. Tonight he was just tremendous. Jordan goes a complete 9 innings with I understand 14 K's. He was asked if he was alright and he shook the coach off wanting to finish.
Jordan took this team on his back and willed this team to the win. A gutsy performance by a great kid.

Jordan was assisted in the win with a diving catch by Ryan Langevin in LF, and a diving stop at first by Jeremy Shellhorn. Shellhorn also laid down a bunt in trying to move the runner to 3rd (errant throw allows the 2 run to score in the 9th). Peyden Honeycutt HR

    W wins 2-1

Well Ive said I didnt think NW/ER either one had enough to go all the way this year, but I had them both going further than 2nd round. Oh well, thats why they play the game. Congrats to all the winners. Guess with my run right now, I'll stay away from picking winners for next while or so... :urfired:

Hurting my arm with all the back patting i am doing. I mentioned earlier that with all the parity in the west 4a and 3a that there were no guarentees. I believe Providence, NW Cabarrus, ERowan, Davie County and Cuthberson all got upset ( I could be wrong and i usually am). There are some very balanced teams in the west that doesn,t get much ink but they are good and with the one and done, on a given night anything can happend. I know a lot of seniors on the teams that lost and i can honestly say that they are wonderful players and even better young men. They all will do well at the next level. It hurts right now but congrats on a great season. All my friends that are through playing, if you have any favors left with the BaseBall Gods, ask them to give Mallard Creek some help. We play TC Roberson friday and we can used all the help we can get. They are very good.
