At first glance IMO...arms (pitching depth) of the east vs bats of the west...

Can anyone give a breakdown of the players? what high school are they from...what position they play?...where they are going? I know several of the West players but not all.

 

I do not understand..............

What was the selection process for this group? Was it tryouts, nominations, daddyball or what? Since the Hill kid is on the list, I assume it is a 2011 group, right?
We (West) don't appear to be fielding our strongest team. Where are the arms and the bangers from schools like Providence, AK, and NWC? Perhaps they all have scheduling conflicts. Or is this just not the top level of competition? I am just interested in full disclosure. Since I am an addict and now have the time, I want to see this team play. Will the schedule be published?

The Senior State games is the senior portion of the Summer state games. All North Carolina 2011 seniors in the western part of the state was able to tryout for the team. I to was disappointed in the number of players that tried out. I quess the players from the schools that you mention didn't want to try out or some of the other high profile name players in this region didn't have the time or want to try out. To the guys who made the team, congratulations and it should be a great experience for them. They will play a double header against the Senior East squad June 15 in Winston salem

 

I don't know all of the players, maybe someone can help out, here's what I've heard as far as colleges for a few of the players...correct me if I'm wrong...please post others​

I have spoken to a few of the local players who would make the west team. Some have told me that they were not playing because they had already signed to play with a college and would rather give a player who has not committed a chance to be seen by college coaches. I was also told that the State Games conflicted with some of their legion schedules and they elected to be loyal to their legion teammates. It was also brought up that the State Games were played after the MLB draft and that any last look pro scouts would give a player would be during the first part of the legion season.

You have confirmed my thinking that this looked like a roster of "Honorable Mention" players. Maybe I will not attend. But if I do, I will provide highlights on TBR.

with that thought process and comments, I doubt the players would WANT you to come to the game. I personally think that kind of comment is uncalled for
