OK I'll bite......................and be the first to start the battle of words.....

    Canes South 2013 / 16u

Canes have won the past 2 16/u WWBA National Championships, although this current team is unproven, Coach Petty and Coach Collins appear to have the knack of putting together strong teams, with this current roster appearing to be more of the same.

I believe there are several tiers when ranking showcase teams:

top tier: Almost every player ends up at a very respectable school

    Canes
    Dirtbags
    SC Panthers

Middle Tier: Half at high level schools some that end up at CC or d-2 (absolutely nothing wrong with that), some end after high career (again nothing wrong)

    CBC
    Heat
    Diamond Rats

Lower Tier: One or two players go to big programs, while other end after high school or play d-2, d-3 or CC, JUCO

    Lake Monsters
    Cubs

Any listing of "best" teams or programs must have On Deck as one of the top programs. That organization has been around and achieved consistent success longer than anybody. Plus they have been a part of sending more players to college than anyone....starting with Daniel Bard and Robert Woodard to the current group that successfully promoted most, if not all, of their players to the next level.

I remember a couple of years where they had everyone signed.

The bottom line in Showcase baseball is not about win/losses, but about promoting their players and successfully getting them signed.

It goes without saying that the Canes will be one of the top teams. It's amazing the talent they get.

All of them are great. To play 4 games a weekend is a blessing. 20 plus teams in the area, that is good things to come for the local colleges.

I'll agree with your comment on the Dirtbags. They split their best players between their top 2 16u teams instead of keeping the best on one team. So that definitely should give somebody with one team like the Panthers an advantage.

AP brings his best together for his 17-U team or in major tournaments like Perfect Games. I wouldn't be concerned for Impact. They will always field a great team.
