Mooresville Post 537/Pine Lake Prep

    This is just an informative post to let everyone no that Pine Lake Prep is the new Post for 537. This is about 2 miles north of Davidson, N.C. All home games will be played at Mooresville High School. The boundaries include Part of Cabarrus County 6 miles into Mecklenburg, approximately 2 miles into Rowan County and most of the Graded School District of Mooresville. If anyone is interested in playing for this post that lives in this area, you can contact me at 704 746 5908.

    What is your base school,,, Pine Lake Prep or Mooresville HS?

    That post 537 team has Pine Lake as its base school. Word is it was a back door deal so the Legion commish could give him a team without breaking the promise to not have teams at both Mooresville HS and Lake Norman HS because they denied another Post a team in 08 based on those 2 schools 'were to close'. Pine Lake has NO facilitys, it's a Charter School.

    Post 537 Sr. team tryouts

    Post 537 will hold tryouts for their 2011 Senior American Legion team Monday May 23rd 5pm at the Mooresville Senior High School baseball field.

    In lite of the new enlightenment of the AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL RULES. I believe the Post #537 website needs to take South Iredell and Lake Norman off of there list of schools they can draw from and even some West Rowan players would be questionalble. And maybe the Mooresville Tribune could make a correction because they were wrong also. No wonder everyone is confused!!!

    Depending on where the young man lives, they could be 537. Some SI boys live near the Meck/Iredell line. Some WR boys are also close to Pine Lake. There may be only a few, but you still have to take the enrollment, therefore the school is listed as a drawing area.

    Post 537 draws from all schools listed. It may only be a small area, but there are a few from each who fall within the 537 drawing area.

    I may be wrong but I don't believe there has been a person assigned to South Iredell High school on the Iredell/Meck line since Lake Norman was opened. And as for West Rowan. Some may be closer to Pine Lake than Lake Norman but some will also be closer to South Rowan than Pine Lake. Either way your SOME is VERY limited.
