All State & North Carolina/South Carolina Game

I know both of these have been finalized, but when will there be an official release of the All-State team, as well as the roster for the North Carolina / South Carolina game?

 

The All State team has definately not been finalized. I am pretty sure the NC vs SC roster has not been finalized either.

 

I was at a high school athletic banquet Tuesday night where a player received both accolades. I'm pretty sure they weren't made up...

 

I believe if you are conference player of the year, you make the All State team. the North carolina/ South Carolina game i have no glue if you are nominated or if there are tryouts, because i haven't heard anything pertaining to this game. Will someone in the know enlighten me how this is done.

 

That makes sense about the conference player of the year. I was unaware of that. Maybe that's how they knew.

For the NC/SC game, I'm pretty sure it goes by nominations. There hasn't been a tryout.

 

How would you find out about nominating players for this event.

 

Probably weren't made up, but as I stated before the All State team is definately not finalized - if I did not know that for a fact I would not have stated it. POYs are automatically All State. NC/SC roster is in the process of being completed, but it has not been finalized for publication yet...look for it soon though as the games are quickly approaching.

 

NC/SC Challenge is an invitation only. There are no tryouts. As 411 said, the roster is not finalized.

The funny thing about the Challenge is it's a huge event held in Myrtle Beach and the MB area does a wonderful job in hosting it. However, you never hear much about it in NC. In my opinion, it's the worst promoted event, yet it is one of the best to play in. The talent participating is always the cream of the crop and well attended by ML scouts----those guys never miss a trip to the beach.

 

NC-SC Challenge

Typically the invitations for the NC-SC Challenge are done by a committee from the NC Baseball Coaches Association. They go with coach and scout recommendations to help them determine the roster.... I agree that it is one of the best events in NC/SC High School Baseball, yet it is rarely publicized in NC.

 

I had the privelage, and honor, of coaching in this event a few years back. What a great event!! Loaded with talent and great kids. It was an invite only thing back then. I think a committee from the Coaches Association was in charge of the invitees????
