Any benefits to rec ball

    Need your opinion. If a player is playing 16U showcase ball is there any benefits to playing in a rec ball league during the week or will that effect her timing for faster pitches in showcase ball.

    yes and no, depends on what you and your daughter are looking for. my dd played 18u rec ball and had a riot, practicing her pitches, working on technique, etc, etc, but i did notice that rec ball affected some players hitting and timing....but she did have fun......

    I can't see where it could hurt . . . .

    If DD's a pitcher she could use it as a workout but be sure she gets some rest. Hitters? Should be able to adjust to pitching. If they can't then there's work to do, anyway.

    If it's fun for her let her do it. I know the 'happiest place in the world' for my kid was the ball field. It's also the safest for an adolescent girl.
