Pineville seemed to be a little short handed and pitched by committee - giving up 10 walks and hit 6 batters in the process.

Gaston Braves 11....Queen City Mustangs 10

These two teams battled each other all night in a great setting for baseball at South Point HS in Belmont. The Mustangs came out of the gate hitting, with 5 of their 16 hits in the first inning, plating 3 runs. Ryan Weise cruised through the first 4 innings giving up only one hit, a solo home run by Rundio. The score see-sawed back and forth through the latter innings and with the score tied 10-10 in the bottom of the 9th, the Mustangs found themselves in a bases-loaded jam with no outs. After a strikeout, Perry lined a sharp single to RF to end the game in walk off fashion.

    Leading hitters:

QC: Colin Manning 3-5, HR, 2RBI
    QC: William Frazier 3-6, 3RBI
QC: Eddie Hull 3-5, double, RBI
    QC: David Daniels 2-4, double
    QC: Tyler Powell 2-4 double
    GB: Rundio 3-5 HR, double
    GB: Edgerton 2-5, double
    GB: Wiggs 1-4. 2RBI

Michael Boles gets the win for Post 321 going 7.2 innings allowing just 3 earned runs. Ryan Ogden and Jared Fortune nailed it shut late for Huntersville.

Michael Russell hit for the cycle with his 7th home run in just 8 games played.

Huntersville moves to 11-0 and hosts Mint Hill Army tomorrow night at North Meck at 7.

Hunter Conley gets the win for Post 321 going all 7 innings.

This was at tie ball game in the 6th inning, before a big two-out, two-rbi single by Daniel Whitecavage. After a pitching change, Jared Fortune hit a 3-RBI bomb for his fifth of the season.

Michael Russell was a single away from hitting for the cycle for the second consecutive night, instead he hit his second homer of the ball game in his last at bat. That is 9 home runs in the 9 games Russell has played.

Brandon Wilkerson also reached base every time for Post 321.

Huntersville moves to 12-0 and has a week break before they take on Pineville next Thursday night.

Absolutely one of the most complete and talented ballplayers around....plays hard and has the quickest release on cross-infield throws you will see. The ball comes off his bat differently...his homeruns are rockets and even his groundouts are perilous for the infielder.
