Virginia & FSU need to step it up today. SEC has 3 teams going to Omaha.

do not complain about the bats

After seeing all the home runs in the Florida / MissState and FSU/TX A&M games yesterday, do not believe there is a reason to complain about the bats

yes for UVa. but no for FSU

Cavs get in CWS w/ 9th inning rally.
Noles appear to be staying home this year if Tx A&M's 11-2 lead holds.

Cal Bears will be the feel-good story. Remember, they were supposed to drop their baseball program.

The way he has been swinging the bat, I would have never guessed that was his 1st HR. Great to see Hoos pull it with 2 outs bottom 9 with no one on.

    2nd guess?

you think the UCI coach is second-guessing taking out the young lefty in favor of the starting ace of the staff? the lefty was holding the Cavs at bay.

I'm sure he is but you have Ace of staff, (who did get rocked on Sat), Conf pitcher of Year and he did get first 2 batters. What bother me was when pitcher got hit on foot for 2nd hit, he stayed in. He walked the next batter on 4 straight pitches to load bases. that was the killer. He put winning run at 2nd base. In all fairness to pitcher, all hits were grounders through infield. Its not like they were line drives to the gaps.

    Great ending!

    hired @ Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee has hired Cal State Fullerton coach Dave Serrano as the Volunteers' new baseball head coach.

Serrano, 46, returns to the program where he had his first Division I job as an assistant coach between 1995 and 1996. His first trip to Omaha came with the 1995 Vols featuring Todd Helton and R.A. Dickey. He is one of 11 coaches to take two different programs to the College World Series and has a career record of 289-139-1 in seven seasons as a Division I coach.
He led UC Irvine to the 2007 CWS in his third season, and he led Cal State Fullerton to Omaha in 2009.
