Does anyone see any major difference in the mechanics of the Florida batters compared to your local college, HS, or TB batters?

Yes , But first I see some major differences between Florida's verses Arizona States swings .....

I see some serious disconnection on almost all of the Florida batters , the knob of the bat not linked to the
turn of the torso and shoulders..
The barrel of the bat not on the same plane or parallel to the shoulders at contact and very little if any weight
being tranfered from the back side to the front leg ...( look at the location of the back knee )

Arizona States batters in my analogy has a much tighter connected swing , shifts weight very well prior to
unloading into the ball , while maintaining a on plane barrel path with the shoulders ..
( look at the rear foot to see the unweighting )

    my .02 cents worth ........

I agree that most all of Arizona's batters are getting the weight off the backside really good. Parlich and Castillo are really disconnected. At least in the clips looked at.

Brittany Schutte really gets off the backside and has great connection for Florida.

What I see most all of the world series batters doing is loading (hip coil in particular). That's almost nonexistent around here.

Bat angle around here also seems to be misunderstood. Too many call it dropping the shoulders. Too many believe that swinging on plane means the bat is level to the ground instead of angled to the plane of the pitch.

Now, Moultrie's HR swings were mostly on high pitches so her bat angle would have been more level to the ground than if they were lower pitches.

Sorry my friend I totally disagree with your analogy of Parlich and Castillo of Arizona
State disconnected swings...Please review this girls swing who I would favorably compare
both of these ASU girls swings too ...
    http://imageevent.com/siggy/hitting/olympic?p=0&n=1&m=24&c=4&l=0&w=4&s=0&z=9

Notice the relationship of the bat to the bottom hand forearm at the start of the swing
(hinge angle aprox 90 degree)and how that relationship is maintained until the bat gets into
lag position ...Also pay close attention at lag at the relationship of the rear shoulder,
slotted elbow , hip and back knee .. I'm also seeing a maintained tightness of the the front
arm tricep and forearm to the batters chest as well as a uncocking of the wrist at contact
    are a frame afterwards ..
All of these characteristics are prime examples of a well connected swing pattern ...
I totally agree with your assessment of Brittany Schutte , she's one of Florida's better
hitters and a good example of the above swing mechanics.. She's also one of a few
    recruited players from California ..
Most of Florida's batters are pushing with the top hand into contact from the video's I'm
seeing , a disconnection from the rear shoulder and are extending way past contact ...
BTW I'm not a ASU fan , I really wanted to see Florida win ......

I agree the Stanford girl is connected. Did you look at the model swings link? Parlich and Castillo are shown a few posts from the end. They're not connected in those clips.

Do you think most local batters even know what we're talking about?
