Athens Drive and Broughton both have vacant coaching positions as of this week.

Both are very good, tradition rich programs.

Any idea of the circumstances behind the openings? Both coaches seemed to do a nice job with their programs. Not sure how long either had been in the position, but teams were always solid.

Also...did Cary fill their varsity position?

Not sure of reasons and probably shouldn't be discussed anyways.

Cary hired Brian Yerger, who took over mid-season after Sasscer resigned.

Agree on the discussion aspect.....I was just curious if they left for postions at other schools or decided to get out of coaching.....wasn't assuming either was let go. Like I mentioned, I was impressed with the jobs done at both programs. I will say that to me Broughton was the surprise team in the Cap 8 this season. This was supposed to be a down year and they were a solid 3rd in conference play.

I wonder if this is close enough for Coach Evans. What a great opportunity and the schools would do well to go after him.

Braves, great thinking on Coach Evans! I think it's a little too far from Roxboro to Raleigh everyday but he would be awesome in either position. Gotta get him back on the field.

Any word on who got the job at Athens?

Thanks for the props... but it would be over an hour 1 way to either school and I am not in a position to move. Either job would be very intriguing though...

As far as I know, both jobs are still open. Some very good applicants have inquired about both as well.
