Underway at Tarboro Stadium as the Long Island Storm take on the South Charlotte Panthers of Danny Hignight. The Storm send Cameron Kitt to the mound and the Panthers counter with Trent Thornton.

Stretchy...."Fish: This should be a great game. thanks for the on site coverage!"

Through two complete and still 0 to 0.

Kitt wiggles out of a bases loaded jam as he records a strikeout to end the top of the third without surrendering a run.

The ice is finally broken in Tarboro as the South Charlotte Panthers get a lead off walk to JD Long and he scores on a three base throwing error on a sacrafice bunt attempt by Andrew MacLatchie. After a groundout, Coach Hignight puts on a perfectly executed squeeze play that scores MacLatchie as Michael Herbert lays a great bunt down the third base line and then takes second on some heads up base running. Coach Hignight stays with the small ball theme and has Tyler Chadwick lay down a bunt and reaches first as Herbert moves up to third. Herbert is then caught in a rundown between third and home on a bunt by Jacob Rothman and is put out trying to score. Chadwick moves up to third and Rothman to second during the run down. So with two outs and runners on second and third, Kyle Whitman delivers a huge two run single and moves the Panthers ahead 4 to 0. After the Storm make a pitching change to Edwin Corniel, the Storm get the thid out of the inning.

Meanwhile, Trent Thornton keeps rolling along and we are through 5 complete and the Panthers lead it 4 to 0.

Stretchy: "Hey fish how are the mom's today?"

    Stretchy...The Moms are looking GOOD!

Going into the top of the seventh, the Storm have made a pitching change, bringing in righthander Brian Karp.

Thornton goes the distance for Hignight's Panthers and gets the complete game shutout. South Charlotte Panthers defeat the Long Island Storm 4 to 0.

    Back in Pirateland...

Picking up the 2nd game of the day at ECU, where the Tri-State Arsenal is taking on the Virginia Cardinals. There was no score through one, but Arsenal has scratched for two in the top of the second. A wild pitch with the bases loaded scored the first run and then an RBI single by Zack Renna scores the second run of the inning. A bases loaded walk to Zach Large brings in the third run of the inning and the Cardinals manager is going to the bullpen and brings in righthander, John Booker. Booker plunks the first batter he faces and forces in another run. Vaughan Champion drives in another run with a bases loaded single. Third baseman John Adryan comes up big with a bases clearing, 3 run double and that takes the lead to 8 to 0. Jordan Glover-Jones delivers a bullet down the right field line for a triple and two RBI's. The inning mercifully comes to an end and the Arsenal leads 10 to 0 after an inning and a half.

The Cardinals strand one at third and it is still 10 to 0 after 2.

Jordan Glover-Jones doubles in John Adryan to push the Arsenal lead to 11 after three and a half innings complete.

The Cardinals make a little noise in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI single by John Booker, scoring Joe Manion.

Arsenal gets a run on an infield single by Curtis Burnett, scoring Zack Renna and then DJ Robinson scampers home on a steal of second by Burnett. After four and a half, Arsenal leads 13 to 1.

That wraps it up from ECU...Arsenal 13 and the Virginia Cardinals 1.

Yea, you're right. Diesel set the bar high w/ all the detailed analysis of the eating establishments in Greenville. I guess you can't do that with everything.:sunny:

Carry on, you're doing a fine job.

    Game 3 at ECU...

Back for more action here at beautiful Lewis Field at Clark-LeClair Stadium on the campus of ECU as the Canes South 17 takes on the Myrtle Beach Stars. Canes head coach, Doug Collins sends Nick Monroe to the bump and the Stars counter with Chris Callahan.

The Canes threaten in the top of the third, but come up empty handed as Stars pitcher Chris Callahan gets out of the jam.

Through three complete innings, we are still scoreless.

The Canes make a pitching change at the top of the fourth as Nick Monroe leaves giving up only one hit and is replaced by Clyde Tate.

The Stars strike for the first run of the game on an error at second and then some heads up baserunning by Robert Gray as he slides into home. After a walk, the bases are loaded with only one out. Tate wiggles off the hook and leaves 3 stranded as the Stars are only able to scratch out one run. After four innings, the Stars lead 1 to 0.

After a lead-off walk in the bottom of the fifth, Collins goes to the bullpen and brings in Joseph Bilikowski. Jesse Nelson brings home the second run of the game for the Stars with a RBI single in the bottom of the fifth. After five complete, the Myrtle Beach Stars lead 2 to 0.

The Canes scratch for one in the top of the sixth on a wild pitch, but take the loss 2 to 1 after the time limit ends the game.
