    We have a pool winner

The Wilson Bulldogs are winners of Pool D already having won their first 3 games in pool play. Congrats!

Sitting at the kitchen table verifying each score before we roll this morning. Another blazing day ahead. The ugliest mom at this event is MOTHER NATURE!

Hope Saturday to be better than FRYday!

We are underway at Wesleyan College where the Don Hutchins led South Charlotte Panthers (2-0-1) are playing the Long Island Tigers in the 16u bracket. The Cats have only given up 1 run in 3 pool play games so far and hope to clinch the pool with a victory this morning.

The Tigers open up the game making 3 consecutive errors giving the Panthers 2 free runs.
Brian Bauk-Salisbury HS tames the Tigers 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 1st.
Panthers Thomas Nantz doubled and scored in the 2nd inning going up 3-0.
Another 1-2-3 inning for Brian Bauk.
Double by Colby Barnette in the 3rd and he scores on a wild pitch for a 4-0 lead.
Bauk walks the bases loaded and then hits a Tiger in the tail for a run which is followed by a 2 run single from Brendan Spagnuolo. A web gem by leftfielder Logan Sherer ends the inning preventing the Tigers from tying the game. Cats lead 4-3 after 3 complete.
Cats threaten as Derek Smith leads off with a double but gets stranded.
Bauk, hitting 87 on the gun, comes back with another 1-2-3 inning. End of the 4th Panthers 4 Tigers 3.

In the 5th the Panthers don't score. Bauk walks the leadoff Tiger Joe Labella and Coach Hutch goes to the pen for Kendall Hughes.
Incredibly with 1 out Casey Surdi bunts the runner to 3rd base and I am saying "why?" well on a wild pitch Labella scores the tying run.

A host of both mental and physical errors by the Tigers give the Panthers 5 runs in this CAT FIGHT. Kirk Morgan on the bump to try and close it out.
Tigers get hits by Nick Duarte and Bryce Keller in the inning but don't score and the Panthers clinch a playoff spot. Congrats on the 9-4 win.
