Please say more about the Myrtle Beach team's behavio. I hate it that we could not make the trip down to Columbia for the weekend. Any other elaborations on the weekend greatly appreciated.

I would think that any showcase tournament from now on would be either wood or BBCOR. Time to retire the old metal bats. Doesn't surprise me that the SC Panthers won. They're one of the best organizations, hands-down. It would probadly irritate me a little bit to show up at a extra high school field being used that wasn't cut like it should have been, but I know it happens occasionally. Organizers have to scramble sometimes at the last minute and find extra fields. Sometimes the weather is so bad, other fields have to be found as well. Shoot, I always wanted a couple games on the college field at least, and that doesn't always happen either. Now, really, I have no problem with umpires wearing shorts in showcase tournaments. I can sympathize with the umps going all day in 90 to 100 degree weather. Some of these guys go several games on the same field without a rest. Don't want any umps or players having heat stroke.
