Who are the Top 10 players in your Conference

Coach, sorry to hear you're retiring but you have to do what's best for you and your family. You run an outstanding program and it's been a pleasure watching you guys over the past few years in our matchups. All the best. good luck.

 

Thank you. It was a tough decision - I have either played on or coached for an organized baseball team every year since I was 5 years old. Not sure what comes next, but God is good....and family comes 1st. Good luck this season.

Evan Holub and Jarrin Hogue are two very good players from Northwest.

 

Looking back on my son's playing career, there were a handful of places that were always a joy to visit (win or lose); and, thanks to your direction, Coach Knight, Central Cabarrus is one of the standouts.

Every time his high school team traveled there, we knew we could expect to play well-schooled, talented players in a sportsmanlike environment. I always associated it with the evident leadership you demonstrated while we were there.

As you know better than I, there are lots of ways to continue to be associated with the game. A bug I'd put in your ear would be to suggest that you consider going on the board of a nearby rec league. I've always felt that most boards were crying for solid direction; and your experience and wisdom would certainly strengthen any board.

Ktownfan- You are exactly right. Both those kids are legit players and, teamed with the players I named for the Trojans, they make Northwest the preseason favorite to 3-peat as league champs in my mind. They are well coached and play with confidence...they'll be tough to beat.

Prepster - Thank you so much for your comments. It is difficult to step away from something that has been a big part of my heart and life for so long, but I'm sure I'll stay involved in the game in some way. I'm glad we represented our program and school with class....it is a big part of every team I've coached. I have thoroughly enjoyed coaching in this area and have a number of great memories. Good luck to you in whatever you do in baseball.

Had the same thought. Way too many quality players to even try to make a list
