2010 World Champions Dirtbags (12u) Tryouts

The Dirtbags will host two 12U team evaluation workouts on Sunday, January 29 and Sunday, February 12. Any 12U player interested in playing for the 12U Dirtbags needs to attend one of these workouts. We are looking for the hardest working, motivated and talented players to form one of the top teams in the Nation.

The 12U team will be managed/coached by former Texas Rangers Northwest Leage All-Star Ryan Falcon (27 years old) who pitched in to Double-A with the Rangers. Falcon is still in the top five in several pitching categories including ERA and strikeouts at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. He was also a Cape Cod League All-Star before being drafted by the Texas Rangers in 2007. Last summer Falcon was a professional baseball coach with the Edinburg Roadrunners.

The 12U Dirtbags will play 8-10 weekend tournaments this spring and summer starting in March 2012. Our coaching staff is a NON-PARENT coaching staff. Fees for the team have not been determined.

Ryan Falcon is one of the best pitchers I've seen from NC. The young man has every tool a pitcher could have. It's great to see that he's back home and sharing his wisdom.

...and his brother, Cameron, was a very underrated pitcher, too.

 

Is the Feb. 12, 2012 workout still on? I noticed it wasn't on the Dirtbags homepage anymore.

They took the Carolina Grasshoppers and turned them into the 12U Dirtbags..

This is not true. Just clarifying for everyone else.

 

There is a 12U Dirtbags, check under USSSA Baseball. I spoke with Andy Partin and Ryan Falcon over lunch and it was decided that the Grasshoppers would officially become the 12U Dirtbags. I dont know what is untrue about this statement, I have no reason to lie. It was also decided that there would be only 1 12year old team, maybe Andy has had a change of heart but I spoke with Ryan today 2-13-2011 and he did not know anything about any changes, in fact Ryan is trying to organize a tournament for the 12 and 13 year old Dirtbags. I guess they could still be having workouts but there is a 12 year old team.

Guess I am confused because Ryan told me via voicemail on Saturday (2/11/12) that they had decided not to field a 12u Dirtbags team this spring/summer and that they were going to wait until the fall.

So I'm not sure what's going on? I was only inquiring because my son was interested in the tryouts.

No problem dude, maybe they decided to add another 12 year old team. I had lunch on Jan 21 and the decision was made to have the Grasshoppers become the Dirtbags. I would listen to Ryan if he said that. There was not a big response on the paid coaching on Jan 21, maybe things have changed. I do know that the 12u Dirtbags are active now, but maybe a 2nd team is coming. Good LUck
