With predictions that gasoline may be close to 5.00 per gallon this summer and other rising costs it's becoming quite a burden on everyone's already tight budget. Families are finding it harder and harder to justify or afford to travel too far from home. I thought maybe a thread so that everyone could share any ideas at all (fundraising...) or whatever that would help us all raise funds or cut costs to help alleviate the financial strain that travelling is causing. Thanks!

    Fundraiser Ideas

You can find a ton of different fundraising ideas on the internet. Just hit Google!

*Have a business donate an item(GAS CARDS) and run a raffle.

*Get girls to find business sponsors and put the business name on a banner or back of the uniform.

*Have a hitting derby. Let the girls get pledges from individuals to donate money per foot she can hit a ball. Measure the distance of the farthest ball the girl could hit(fly or roll) and let them get money from the pledges.

*Home Run Derby - explanation not needed. You can set fences at 100', 150' and 200'. Hit 5 balls and get pledge for the balls hit over each fence. $5 a ball hit over 150', $10 a ball hit over 200'...

Whats juvenile about my response. You asked how to cut cost, and were worried about gas prices. Sorry I offended you.

Sorry you thought you offended me. No offense. Was looking for "real" suggestions not arrogance.

WOW!That was my "REAL" suggestion. Not arrogance. I to had some of the same concerns as you. Time being the biggest one. Worked to improve our Rec. league and have made a difference. We now compete with two different counties in Rec. I'm done here.
    Life is good!

Someone could hold good quality tournaments around the triangle area! Instead of having to travel so far!
