You should be accurate and request that people send you free information so that you can then charge people for it. $99 for an annual subscription to be exact. This entire organization is a joke. You don't provide anything that your "players" would not already accomplish on their own. You provide one thing that keeps you in business & that is an ego massage. Most people do not consider the source when is comes to compliments, they simply feel good, say thanks and then pay you for it. My quotation around players earlier is not a slight to them because they are players before they come to you. During their time with you they are participants because there has to be game in order to have players. They resume their status as players at some juncture down the road when a real coach reminds them how a real game is played. A real game involves team work & sacrifice and even has a winner & a loser. How often do you tell people that you were the CO-national champions. You know the game that decides who wins the whole tournament for that weekend that you guys call "national championship" that ended in a tie in 2010. How many national champions does your group have each year btw?? That is just one point to expose your group (because you are not a league either) that would allow a tie in the so called championship is a joke also.

Baseball has some standards & flaws, but like real life it takes care of its own and corrects problems from within. Quit preying on these kids and get a real job. You are great at judging talent so become a scout. Baseball has many unwritten rules and one of them is players that get it want to pass it on. That is why there are numerous coaches across this country that give time, effort and money so kids can experience the game we love. I think it is time that those coaches stop looking the other way and stand up for the kids and the game that you exploit.

Lastly, I'm not hiding behind a screen name. I'm Chad Loflin and I believe the kids deserve better.

$99 for a year is crazy but I know some guys at Impact and they are good people. They work hard year round at what they do.

Let's please not try to turn this into an Impact bashing thread. There's been enough of those.

And besides, this thread was about the scoreboard which is free. It's a great addition to their website this year. If the scoreboard goes to where you have to subscribe, then that's different.

My son played for Impact Baseball (Dirtbags) and loved it. He was treated fairly and enjoyed the experience in the field and in the dugout immensely. He made some new friendships, played in some great games at some great venues and had a good time. He wasn't misled about what the experience would be like and the lower costs to be on a quality Showcase team was a nice bonus. Did he play every inning?...No. Did he get his fair share?...Yes.

    Exposure

Exposure is the key word with Impact. They are good at marketing & advertising a player. True, the players already have skills, but Impact opens up many avenues to a player that might not exist if the player goes it alone. And other organizations in the state do much the same as Impact does: Cubs, Canes, SC Panthers, and others are good at getting players more exposure. They all just do it a little differently. This is America. If parents want to spent more money on getting their son noticed for his baseball skills, God Bless Them. I spent more money than I probadly should have on my son, but I don't regret it, not 1 bit. I have alot of great memories on the camp & showcase trail, and met alot of great people along the way as well. Saw alot of good baseball too. The way schools recruit now is just different. Alot has changed. Impact & the others are just a part of that change.

As far as the scoreboard goes, we all know how hard it is to find out scores from around the state sometimes. This Board Rocks, and maxsprep are 2 of the best to get quick information on key games. If Impact wants to provide scores also, more power to em. (some newspapers are awful on baseball coverage)

I still don't see a free scoreboard on their site. I don't know the people so my views are not personal attacks as I'm sure my previous post seems. I understand things change, but that does not mean it is for the best.

    Scoreboard

I wasn't really sure it was free or not at first, but if you click on the HS Scoreboard link written by Trey Dely the scores are posted at no charge. We have never been a part of the DB Organization, but Andy continues to do good things for all our boys. Keep it up Impact.
