App State vs South Carolina tonight

Appalachian State(14-2) is riding a 12 game win streak going into Columbia today to face #3 USC, I'm hoping for a great game. We'll see how Mountaineers respond to a dominating SC squad. Weekday starters, a single game, anything can happen and I know these guys will leave it all out on the field. Good Luck!

 

Great Game...

...wrong outcome if you are an App State fan. Defense was shaky (3 errors), base running miscue to end the game, (runner doubled off 2nd on a deep fly ball), we did not pitch well (10 walks), and we did not hit (5 hits); but still plenty of positives.

App State is one of only two teams to score more than 2 runs on SC this year, we lead the game until the bottom of the 7th, and Daniel Kassouf missed a 2 run home run by no more than 5' that would have tied the game in the 9th. Credit to South Carollina, good teams take advantage of their opponets mistakes and find a way to win. But App State now realizes that if they take care of the little things, they can hang with anyone!
