    K zone

The way the pitchers are dominating this year, we may need to start batting with hatchets.

    It's not the bats

With all the strikeouts we're seeing it sure can't be blamed on the bbcor bats. To blame the bats the boys actually have to hit the ball.

    98% air

I have it on good authority that BBCOR bats are 98% air.

Pitchers now do not fear coming inside to get a strike. They can move the ball from the inside to the outside now instead of staying on the outside edge. The hitters must now anticipate where it is going to be thrown.
If you can't put the bat on the ball, it doesn't matter what your swinging.
With the pitchers I have seen lately (Thorton. Buttrey, Bostic, Shellhorn, Ect).....they all are throwing the ball with a lot of confidence that it will stay in the park.

Took a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the 6th, but lost 3 to 2 to Cuthbertson.

    Weddington rules

Can anyone beat Weddington? Coach Poole has this team full of confidence and rolling. They beat AK, then Providence.... No one in this conference can stand in the same dugout with these guys. Once they get back to full strength....lookout!

Bostic may be the best lefty in the state.

whoaaaaa tatersalad. Let's not get crazy just yet, long way to go. Short answer is ---Yes they can and that is why they play the games. Would I like for you to be right? of course, I am a Weddington fan, but--

That same question was asked in another post about Providence and look what happened. While I would love to crown them the 3a state champions, and to your point they are very confident right now and playing great, championships are a very fragile thing and a lot of things need to line up including staying healthy, staying focused, and even a little bit of luck.

It is way too early to look past some strong competitors in Porter Ridge, Sun Valley and Marvin Ridge. Well coached teams, all with some serious players like Tyler Chadwick, Derek Smith, Zach and Vic Kuchmaner, Jordan Watts, Kenny Palmer, Ryan Smith, Jake Sullivan, Sergio Patsy, Drew Moore and others I am sure I am missing.

We will find out starting this week!! Let the excitement begin. Looking forward to seeing friends and competitors out on the field.

PS: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new 3 games conference series format.
