I think you might be arguing with yourself. I think Weddington and Marvin Ridge are terrific teams! I wish they were in the SW4A. When Weddington was they were bigtime tough. I also like Cuthbertson too!

Instead they're putting Berry and Garringer in the league. UGH! I'm glad my son will be gone by then.

Don't really have a dog in the fight but I do see a lot of South Charlotte/Union County ball and this year you can throw Providence, AK, Marvin Ridge, Weddington and Cuthberston all together and I really don't know who would come out on top. I would put South Meck in there but they don't seem right now to have a reliable 2nd pitcher.

Should be a great week of baseball with the East Meck and Jack Sink tourneys and 3 games between MR and Weddington.

True...and such a shame. It didn't have to get like that and I know we have discussed why many times;, but it's also why I encourage Legion in the summer and showcase in the fall.

    4Boards Pays Attention!

4Boards is an educated HS observer! I agree with all of it except including MRs pitching in the list? I'm not even sure who their "reliable" #1 is much less having a reliable #2? I understand the Prov, AK and Weddington ones. Providence has more than 2. So does Weddington (with the Soph kid). AK has 2 maybe 3. SM needs the #2 guy to be more consistent.

These are the best 5 or 6 teams I have seen. I'm sure there are a few more of this caliber.

    Great POST!!!!!

MR's #1 (Tyler Chadwick), no hit Parkwood, threw a one hit shutout of South Meck and shutout Piedmont. I think that would qualify as reliable.

    Sounds good

I just thought he was a mif who was asked to pitch. You're right though. Good results there. And I forgot about Wotell.

South Meck should be in there no matter what. Put this team in a 3 game series no matter who steps on the mound, even coming out on top expect to be licking your wounds. What a tough team. And Providence has a serious one two punch where the 3rd game may be illigetimate. Marvin Ridge's Chadwick is a stud, competitor. AK's Thornton, tough, gritty, nasty, Carolina signee, Stone, clean lefty with some pop off his hand and a beltbuckle slider to righties. Bostic and Schellhorn, almost the Providence 1-2 punch. Bostic is a spitting image of SM's Chris Jones, drafted 39th overall in the 98 draft but is a little bigger and more over the top. Clean deliver, pops off his hand. One of the best LHP's that Charlotte and its surrounding areas has seen in a long time. Clean and precise. Haven't seen Tekker throw but obviously as a UVA signee has some good stuff. There is some outstanding and deep talent on the bump around here! Kudos to the work these kids have put in.
