    West Forsyth

West Forsyth is playing in Wilmington this week and so far has split a pair of games. They lost to Wilmington Laney 7-3 on Monday and beat Langley (Va) today by a 5-1 score. They led Laney 3-0 going in to the bottom of the 6th and then gave up 7 in one of those bad innings. Today Kenneth Pope took the mound and pitched a complete game in the win.

    Catholic/Independence

Independence defeated Catholic 5-2 in Game 3 of Day 2 at the East Meck Spring Break Classic. Once again, untimely errors for the Cougars contributed to 3 unearned runs for the Patriots. Sophomore James Hickes pitched well and got the win for Independence scattering 7 hits in a complete game for him. Jordan Accetta also pitched well for Catholic - giving up only 4 hits - however, he ended up as the tough-luck loser. Catholic's Eddie Hull was 2-3 with a solo HR. Independence will take on TC Roberson at 11:00 am tomorrow with Catholic playing North Mecklenburg at 4:30 pm.

Sounds like a great rivalry series. All conferences should go to this format.

Collins went out in the 4th in a 2-1 ballgame....2 run bomb in the 5th. Any explanation?
