but there's been a lot of college softball stadium upgrades

I suppose it takes more than nice facilities to bring in the difference-maker recruits.

I agree. I have watched quite a few kids over the past few years who have gone on to play in college and not get any better during there college career. Being fair I think some of them were due to other distractions once they got into college and on their own but others were just due to lack of continued development.

In the case of my DD who is in her senior year of HS ball, more SC schools recruited her than NC schools. May very well be an individual case but not only did we have more SC schools recruiting her but they communicated with us more during her recruitment than any of the NC schools did.
This fall, she will be attending an SC school and playing D1 ball for an SC school.

    my daughter

My daughter said this. Now she is only 14. She said, If I'm good enough to play softball in college in NC. I want to play for UNC. I did not go to UNC and her mother did not go to UNC either. So I asked her if you don't get to go to UNC, where else do you want to go to play ball? I was looking for a D2 or D3 school answer. She said "Alabama or Tenn" I quietly laughed and said ok, and asked why. She said, "they win a lot". But after reading some of these post. I wonder why a 14 yr old would want to go out of state to play ball? Maybe it's in some of what has been said here. Lets look at why a kid would want to come from NY or Tex or California to play basketball at UNC or Duke. Kid's see on TV or where ever who the best are. Alabama will only want the top players or near the top and then develop them. Let me say this, will my girl play ball in college? I don't know, but it would be
nice. My guess is that it will take some consistent big wins over top SEC schools by UNC or State and others to start keeping the girls home instead of going out of state. Winning makes things easier.

It doesn't take wins over an SEC school.........win your state...or in some cases, your town.

    wow

3200 ....wow. I wonder if UNC, State, UNCC and ECU have had that many fans combined for the season? Maybe UNC should bring in Alabama or Fla or Tenn and play in Chapel Hill. See how folks many show up. Good recruiting tool. update UNC played at Alabama last yr. 2800 attended game

Here's Carolina's schedule. They'll be at home for the next couple weekends after this weekend. Free admission. Nice stadium. Playing NC State, then GT.

    Tell your friends.
