Western Carolina swept the home and home series vs. the Clemson Tigers with a 13-8 victory on Wednesday, following an 8-4 victory in Cullowhee a couple of weeks ago. The Clemson pitching staff turned in a tidy 22-hitter as the Catamounts bats were driving the ball on a line all over the ballpark. Twenty singles and a couple of doubles kept the base paths busy and the Fortress Cullowhee fanatics at their loudest after making the trip down the mountain. In addition to the hitting, senior Vance Chavis shined with a perfect performance in the 8th inning retiring the heart of the Clemson batting order (3-4-5) on three straight strikeouts.

WCU is now 4-0 vs. SEC and ACC schools with victories over Georgia, Clemson (2) and Duke....

You are right!!! That's embarrassing....just got a little fired up being down at the beautiful Clemson stadium and seeing those huge Clemson pitchers (they all looked 6'4" and 225lbs) giving up line drive after line drive....should have reviewed the website results before tapping out a post.

Stand corrected....4-1 vs SEC & ACC with wins over Georgia, Clemson (2) and Duke and a loss to Maryland.

Low and Slow...you should check with Paul Harvey..

...for the rest of the story!! The Catamounts are doing well as you clearly posted. They have also lost to Maryland, ECU, Purdue, Citadel, Jackonsville, UNC Ashville, Wofford, Davidson, Kennesaw State, and UNC Greensboro. Not exactly baseball powers. Western Carolina also ranks fifth in what might be the weakest conference in the south.
You post like Obama speaks, leaving out everything that doesn't support your message. I just don't remember your posts when they were struggling.
But thanks anyway and good luck to the Catamounts.

WOW!!! I haven't taken a shot on here with over 500 posts since I chided someone from Dunn, NC claiming that they were 15U world champions by winning an 8 team travel ball tourney in Ft. Mill, SC that was billed as a World Championship by the promoter. I just try to stay positive....

Wow is an understatement. To attack Low and Slow on a neat accomplishment shows a lot of character. Low, good luck the rest of the way, keep a close eye on William and Tyler Powell, please continue to share the success as it is a big accomplishment to beat an ACC team twice while being a team from such a sorry league, as she states.

PS. Paul Harvey would of started with a team that lost games to the mentioned teams in a mid tier league struggling in fifth place can rise to the challenge and beat the big boys, now you know the rest of the story.....

Completely unnecessary - why not celebrate the accomplishments of some young people. Glad to hear Connor is doing well.
