    I've given it some thought.

    AND................................

    I got nuthin'.

I'm dumbfounded. Kinda like seeing a Bear on rollerskates waiting tables at Mortons.

Langston, my respect for you and what you try to do for prep athletics is huge. I try to do what I can for prep athletics as well. I have started websites for schools and legion programs and I am a all around baseball nerd (which several TBR users can attest to).

Be honest. Do you believe that three kids on a private school team that has lost at least three games according to MaxPreps are batting over .600 and one is batting .857?

Sadly just not worth doing without consistent score keeping and with the variation in the ability of the opposing pitching.

Come on man.....hitting these averages with BBCOR bats.....awful taste in my mouth and others when I read this.....next week a story could be done on how scorekeeping is being done at these schools--hate to take anyone's good season away but really?

For instance and for laughs, mind you we have played 15 games........

    Chase Gerhinger -- Observer -- .667
Max Preps -- .327 (having a nother good year at the plate)

    Troy Neal -- Observer -- .625
Max Preps -- .235 (having a excellent defensive season at 2B)

makes a little more sense .......

now, on to the second half !!

I know exactly what is happening -- because we did the same thing at Catholic for the first couple weeks of the season. If each and every player's stats are not entered on the Observer's score/stat reporting website -- for each game -- it will only report that player's average based on what was entered. For example, Chase Gehringer's stats were reported correctly for each and every game on MaxPreps but only his good games were reported to the Observer. We had to go back and enter all players' correct info for each game on the Observer's website -- in order to get it to match MaxPreps. If each school does not do this, the Observer info will never match up.

    Can't wait for HS...

...so my son and his friend's batting average can jump a few hundred points.
(Hard to fake HR's and K's. Sort of believe those stats. )

Was at a game the other day and the batter grounded into a bases loaded, no out 6-4-3 double play, scoring the run from third...several calls came from the crowd, "that's OK, you got the RBI".

By rule, no RBI in that situation...don't know if the scorekeeper scored it that way, but it is that kind of thinking that leads to inflated stats...
