    Did anyone see the ESPN special about Tiant. Pitched 9 inning for Boston in the World Series and threw 174 pitches. Pitched of of 2 on jams in 6th thru 9th innings. can you imagine any pitcher or manager allowing that in todays game.

    I was shocked that Leland let Verlander pitch out of a bases loaded 9th inning jam yesterday, ending it on his 134th pitch.

    Verlander was worried if they brought in the reliever like last week, he'd blow the game and win.

    Its my team as well. Grew up there, lived through the 1968 / 84 WS. My friends back home where worried as well. :):fan_wave2:
