    Ak 3 myers park 2

    Trent Thorton and Alex fink(junior) both pitched complete games. Thorton struck out 12 or so and gave up 4 hits. Ross Groome (junior) 3/3 with a double and Ryan ahlum (junior) 2 run hr to right. Great game all around. This was finks first start in a while and he did great.

    Butler 7 East Meck 4

    Matt Baltimore picks up his 4th win to propel the Bulldogs to their 7th straight victory. Chase Gehringer goes 3-3 and Butler pounds out 12 hits.
    Malachi Hanes and Jacob Whittingham collected 2 hits each. EM rallied in the 7th but fell short in the 7-4 final. Sapp takes the loss for EM. Butler hosts AK in a huge game Friday.

    Bostic has another solid outing with 8 k's in 4innings work, giving up 2 hits. Pope came in to pitch the 5th and 6th innings with 3 k's and no hits. Schellhorn closes out the game with 3k's in the 7th.

    Shellhorn's bat comes alive with a rocket over the LF fence and the bank landing in the middle of the road. This is a 3 run shot that gave W some breathing room.

    Lots of hits up and down the line up.

    Anson has improved a lot since the last time I saw them. They are young and improving. They are still taking some lumps but should be very good soon.

    West Forsyth/Davie and Reagan/Reynolds both postponed due to rain and tomorrow is not looking very good either.

    Weidman with the win. Hits up and down the lineup. Chadwick, Zach Kuchmaner, and Corgan with good nights at the plate.

    Different Perspective

    It was a win for AK. It was absolutely NOT a great game all around. ThorNton (Senior - UNC) had 16 K's and pitched well. Groome hit the ball hard every at bat. Fink and Ahlum deserve honorable mention for gritty pitching and the home run to right field. For AK, Jake Gavin (Senior) was 2 for 3.

    You never complain about a win, but this one was not what I would call a "great game" by any measure.

    Gehringer is having a great year based on the posts about his performances. He's got to be way up there with his BA. I know his name isn't "Johnny" but he's got it goin' on!

    Lake Norman visits Hough Friday night for round #2. Lake Norman will pitch Jr. John Stires and Hough probable starter will be Spencer Venator. Game time approx. 6:30.

    Sorry it was a great game from a myers park perspective. Thorton throws a 4 hitter complete game and got the win so I assumed it was a great game all around. My bad.
