Not much to say here except that Harding hung in there for 2+ innings before their pitching ran out. Catholic travels to Ardrey Kell Thursday for what should be a fun game......it's good to see these back-door neighbors finally getting to play each other!!!

So i missed my first SG baseball game in more than two years, but did get a text so i can give what details I know at this point: (Mustang, help me out when you get a chance) my source reports it was a 2-2 game in the 5th before the Vikings scratched out 1 run in the top of the 6th and pulled away with 5 more in the 7th...gritty performance from both teams, anybody heard from the other Carolina 12 teams tonight?

 

Weddington 14 Parkwood 0

Alex Bostic 5 inning win, 1 slow roller hit and one error away from perfect game. 11 k's in 5 innings. He also hit 2 HRs and a single.
His name is not Johnny but he is 7-7 in his last 8 plate appearances with 4 HRs, double, 2 singles and an intentional walk. To make it more interesting he has 6 home runs in his last 18 abs. He is .333 in HRs!

South Meck 14 Myers Park 5

SM had 13 hits including a Grand Salami by Adam Nix. Earl Oliver got the win and Fink the loss for MP. MP made 6 errors which didn't help matters.

SM is now 8-4 in league play and 14-7 overall.

 

Your well informed Tarheel. Granville Central came out aggressive and put the ball in play often. They also made plays on most every ball hit the first 6 innings. Vikings were actually down 2-1 going into the 5th before Houston Anderson hit one out of left field. SG finally hit the ball in gaps in the 7th. Matt Fuhr Picked up his 9th win of the season (not sure on Ks, but he had several). One of those games that build character.

 

Mustang, Yes every team needs those character building wins when one and done time is right around the corner.....doesn't do you any good this time of year to beat down somebody 15-0 in five innings because you can never expect that on or after May 11
