Mount Pleasant defeated Central Cabarrus 16-3 in 5inngs

Nick Coble hit a grand slam and Jake Kimble was the winning pitcher.

I do ask the you please keep central cabarrus pitcher Kyle Cliff in your prayers. He took a screamng linedrive off the temple of his head. He was taken off the field on a stretcher. As of now I dont know his condition but will pass on details as I get them

I received a message last night that Kyle went home and is doing well. He is a competitor and probably ready to play again, but a little sore this morning I would think.

Update from Central:

Just talked to Coach Bost. Quote: "He (Kyle) took a line drive right under the eyebrow of his left eye. CT scan and orbital scan came back negative. Needed eight stitches. Unfortunately it will be a week or so before they can check his eyesight because of the swelling. Scary to say the least. BBCOR bat definitely makes a difference."


Scary situation - we had something similar happen in 2010 when pitcher Jamey Lee got hit and had to have plates put in around the eye socket. Definitely rocked the team a bit - one of the worst situations I was a part of in 13 years as a head coach. Obviously the bat regulations have helped....but all of us that have sons as pitchers can certainly relate to how nervous we get when any ball gets ripped up the middle.

Continue to keep Kyle and his family, along with his Central teammates and coaches, in your prayers. Kyle is a model student/athlete from a wonderful family - the type of kid any parent would be very proud of.

Question: If say there is a 3-way tie for 3rd how will they determine who gets that seed for the tournment and state playoffs?

For Example if HR, MP and CM all finish will a 8-6 conference record who gets the 3rd seed.

Heard that Blake Sides was not with the Hickory Ridge team at last nights game with Robinson. Was in the stands. Anyone know anything? P.M. me if necessary.
