    Thanks for any info.

I can't feel it or see it but other folks say thay can and that the Umps won't allow it. I would think the bat would have to have an obvious dent in it to be taking out of play. Played in a tournament this weekend but the officials didn't check bats. Thanks for any help Cheese!

i'm gonna look for that rule, but the intent was to stop unsafe bats.....in the early days, people would actually show up with a LARGE flat spot in the sweet spot and try to use the bat.....like using a paddle on a golf ball......2005 rocket techs were notorious for doing that....i know, i used to sell them..lets see if i can track down the rule...

Rule 1-5-1c - The bat shall be free of rattles, dents, burrs, cracks and sharp edges...

If the bat has a dent that prevents a 2 1/4" bat ring from sliding over it then it should be disallowed.

If I can see a dent the bat is gone. If I can only feel it then its ok in my judgement, but the bat ring should take judgement out of the equation.

If an umpire feels a dent they have every right by rule 1-5-1c to disallow the bat.

    Hope this helps
