Well...the wild card race cleared up tonight. Glenn winning its game knocks HPC out of the automatic qualifier.

McDowell at 14-9 looks to be the wild card in the West Region

Davie and West Forsyth advance to the tournament final so the seeds will remain Davie 1, West Forsyth 2, Reagan 3 and Mt Tabor 4.

 

Playoff Baseball......

Best time of the year for High School athletics in North Carolina....baseball playoffs far better than any other sports playoffs in this state....however, we need to become current with the times and all rounds should be best 2 of 3......a shame that some schools will run into a good arm and be done when overall they are better......

Tony, it seems like most TBR ers agree with you. Most are obsessed with the best team (in their opinion) winning. I happen to love the "gotta get it done tonight" atmosphere. Is there a more enjoyable MLB game than the one game playoff when division leaders tie at the end of the season?
Obviously this is a minority opinion, but I love the high tension games every night. And when a good team "runs into a great arm", they better get it done. Nothing better!!!

BBL.....I agree with your analysis of people being obsessed with the best team (in their opinion) winning.....so with saying that I definitely understand and agree to a certain extent your philosophy of getting it done in the current setup round by round game by game.....and 8 is alot of games to win already with the way it is......so just imagine the bear it would be to have to win 12 games to win the title! 6 was plenty back in the mid 90's and so stressful it was......
