That was the problem on senior night versus EM. The racial comments and the crude gay references were over the line.

Good natured, creative heckling becomes fun for many players but the idiots at AK are not good natured and definitely not creative.

If homophobic remarks were the worst thing I heard when I was in high school, I would have felt like I got off lightly. I was called that and much worse. I was told that the entire student section was gonna be waiting for me in the parking lot. Instead, I went yard and ended their party. I got my car keyed the next night in their parking lot when we went back to watch our women's soccer team play them, also in a playoff game. The only party that happened the night of the baseball game was me and my teammates dogpiling on our archrivals pitcher's mound after eliminating them. We had to get a police escort to our bus.

I had 9 voicemails on my phone by the time we had our postgame talk and gathered our things and walked to the bus. I love it when people have that type of passion about high school baseball. Again, I think you guys are making too big of a deal about this. I can guarantee you there was nothing said at the Myers Park players that I haven't heard directed at me.

I've had teammates who played in that game who have gone onto play college and professional baseball, and without hesitation every one of them mentions that game as the highlight of their baseball careers. The game wouldn't have meant as much to us if the other school didn't have students out behind the outfield fence tailgating 2 hours before the game while we took BP. I just can't support trying to put a stop to anything that lessens the fan involvement of baseball, a sport that is already dwindling in comparison to football and basketball in this country.

I agree Triadman, one of the best parts of the game is have the fans get all worked up and being able to shove it back in their face. Most of the heckling is all in good fun and if you cant handle it you shouldnt be in the game.......
