Just for the sake of all of us that didn't get to the Providence-Mt. Tabor game that night, how about filling us all in on what really happened that night. If you weren't there, have someone who was tell us the facts. This is not meant to stir-up the pot or get anyone's feelings hurt. I and many others who were not able to attend the game would like to know what happened! To this day I do not understand all the silence surrounding this game!

 

I do not necessarily understand the lack of info either.
Further, I don't know any posters on here who could give info - except maybe a certain bassfishin guy.

Anyway, though I have never met the Coach from Providence, it just seems sometimes he gets razzed a little extra by some posts and I took exception there. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it's all good in the Queen City between everyone and I'm overreacting...

 

It would be nice to get a thorough recap and summary of how that game (Prov.-Mt. Tabor) went so we could put it to rest and focus on the teams that have earned the right,(on the field), to keep playing for the NC State 4A Championship.

Of course, this is how I remembered the game, so don't hold me to specifics.

Hignight started Michael Herbert because he's a damn good pitcher and had not lost a game in two years. Buttrey pitched over 100 pitches Monday against AK winning 5-0. You knew PHS was in trouble when the fist batter hit a soft grounder to Herbert and he threw it over the first baseman's head. Then a walk and another throwing error by Herbert to third scores the first run. MT best hitter comes up and crushes a ball over the center field fence and it's 3-0. The MT pitcher pitched good, kept the ball down and threw his little slider away all day. PHS hit a bunch of hard hit balls all day but right to the MT players. Buttrey comes into relief and shuts down MT until the final inning. At that point, Buttrey had thrown 3 innings and look a bit tired. The ball was up and he walked two. The PHS SS Proel makes a throwing error and bases are loaded with two outs. Buttrey gets the hitter to hit a slow grounder up the middle towards the second base side, both the SS Proel and and 2b Tommy J were there to make the play and both stopped thinking each other had it. MT 5-4. PHS comes up, base hit PHS Tommy J on second. Buttrey hits a warning track ball to center out and Herbert K-s and Jackson walks and Rothman pops up, game over.

In summary, PHS has been struggling towards the end of the season. Not sure why or who is to blame (if anyone). MT played a good sound game and beat PHS, its that simple.

Finally ....congrats to jumpstart.
For everybody's info, I am deployed to Afg.
However, much to my surprise I have pretty good access to a PC.
