Hoping to see the Sumter combo of Jordan Montgomery (starting) and Matt Price (closing) against Kent State.

USC pitching change caused by Wed. weather in Omaha

Game moved to Thur. midday game and ace Michael Roth goes for Cocks in the elimination game vs. KS , and pitches a masterpiece 2 hitter setting down the final 22 batters in order. 0 walks.

So the freshman Montgomery draws next game start tonight, vs. Arkansas, another potential elimination game for USC. good luck Cocks!

"if" game next, same 2 teams

Montgomery follows up Roth's gem with one of his own. Allows only 3 hits in 8 innings. He's got a great future. Those are 2 strike-throwing machines.
    USC wins 2-0.

what about this? The 2 games played today by USC took only 4 hr's & 40 minutes.

    Montgomery well worth the wait

Two pitchers... one high school...one legion team...one happy baseball community. Great team effort all day today by Gamecocks.
