Who's it gonna be folks? Not sure if current assts Chris Moore or Scheffler are going with Pollard. Only Coach Jordan has been announced as going with him. Is App a big enough job for Coach Forbes or Jackson at UNC? I say an ACC asst or winning D2 coach if not one of the current assts

Congrats to Coach Pollard and Coach Jordan - well-deserved recognition and opportunity. Young, successful coaches whose star was rising and shining bright - no-brainer for all involved.

Sad for recruits and veterans but life happens. All will be well at the Rock - who wouldn't want to jump in that saddle right now! Expect a quick decision with a solid name - not a risky venture, but a tried and true coach with integrity and ties.

    By the way....observation to note:

2011-2012 Duke Baseball Roster features ONE North Carolina player...
2011-2012 App State Roster only lists seven NOT from North Carolina (and two of those are from South Carolina)....

I could have fixed Duke's problems easily.....RECRUIT CAROLINA!!!!! North or South --- doesn't matter!

Coach Pollard will get 'em straight up there...

It seems if winning big can occur and Stanford and Vanderbilt, it can happen at Duke. I still think the limited scholarships (11.7 per year) for D1 baseball and the extremely high tuition at Duke does limit the coaching staff at these types of schools. I too expect a quick decision at App State. Who knows, they might just promote the remaining paid assistant for continuity and a quick decision.

    support

There would be a lot of support for that if it happens....would keep a lot of the core intact and calm a lot of nerves.

Not sure, but I think they are allowed to open things back up. But I hope they'll wait to give the new coach a chance at re-recruiting them, especially if the current assistant who was the hitting coach and the current pitching coach remain.

    Asst Coach Chris Moore

Coach Moore would be the correct hire, but it will probably not happen because he is not the big "name" that many want. There are way too many positives to describe what Coach Moore brings to the table and in just two short years he has made an unbelievable impact on the players.

Whoever is chosen, I wish the program continued success. Go App!

Catcher 10, what kind of "big name" do they think they can get?

Any updates? What about the UNCP coach? I was told he went to App. Don't know to much about him but sounds like he is doing a good job at UNCP.

He did. I played a couple of seasons there with him after he transferred in. He's a really good guy and a really hard worker. I don't know much about his coaching style, but he has had quite a bit of success at UNCP.
