    The gbraves won tonight 11-7 in the first game of their series. Game 2 tomorrow night in hickory

    Some great baseball tonight.

    Shelby wins the closest of series by the closest of margins 5-4 over a very talented Lincoln Co. Team.

    Cherryville shows why they are Cherryville. Down 3-0 at home... no problem. Wins in 10 innings 6-3 on a Walkoff HR by Bess. (By the way, I used to joke about ACC basketball players that have been on teams for what feels like 10 years, when does Bess age out?)

    Gaston Braves take a 1-0 series lead on Hickory in a back and forth battle that ends 11-7.

    Tomorrow, Caldwell Co and Mint Hill get back to the business of baseball with Game 1 at MS Deal Stadium.

    And if I can get on my soapbox for a minute, this is what Legion baseball is all about. And why it is the best form of baseball going. Teams battling in front of crowds, battling heckling fans by being huge in the clutch, and getting up early to go grab a newspaper to see who is on the front page of the sports section. This is why I came back to Legion baseball. Its why other forms are fake to me. There is real emotion with real championships and real people who hang on every pitch. With that, I absolutely hate what TBR has been over the last week and I swore I would never look at it again, but I changed my mind because the positives of baseball outweigh the negatives of brats, drunks, and people with axes to grind. Stay positive. Show the world or atleast Charlotte and everywhere west on I-77 that there is not a better way to spend a summer.

    Gaston Braves go up 2-0

    The gbraves beat hickory post 48 16-6 tonight to take a 2 games to none lead in their series. Gbraves look to close out a good hickory team tomorrow night at south point high school. Braves ace Logan Walden may throw game 3 since he came out in the 2nd inning of game 1. So far the gbraves are 5-0 in the playoffs and look to be hitting their stride at the right time.
