True story on the Instant Classic. Again it was exactly what Legion baseball should be and what some people on this site hate, and that's great baseball. Fans living for the first pitch and the last. It was fun to watch and I am sure to be apart of.

People, do you realize you do so much to disrespect Mint Hill and American Legion baseball in general when you take pot shots at Caldwell Co like that? You make it sound like Mint Hill who by the way has 18 wins on the season isn't the story. Mint Hill played hard, with tireless emotion and won. People have been on this site all year long saying what a great squad they have. They aren't new to the party or just posting to attack, slander and disrespect. And Caldwell came in without their manager and leadoff batter and played hard but got outplayed lastnight. The story is amazing baseball, not your hate. Will tonight be amazing to watch? You bet. I'd watch.

I have some family issues I am going to be handling over the next few days and will miss some of those games, but I know BullDogBacker and the rest of Area IV will be keeping a close eye on what appears to be a very even series. I suggest you come out to Butler tonight or MS Deal tomorrow (and hopefully beyond) and see why American Legion Baseball is so amazing and everything else is a joke.

Caldwell Co. 11 Mint Hill 1

Very simple and short, CC came, wanted, and took - end of story.
CC starting lefty was awesome and dominated with location all night. Whatever pitch he wanted, whatever the count, total control.
Mint Hill looked flat and seemed to struggle with the wet conditions on the mound, walking way too many to be in the game. Cudos to CC for the road win. Can Mint Hill bounce back after such a poor effort? If the rain dosent screw us, we will see.......

The game got to see one batter and then was rained out again! Dont know how this is going to work out if the rain keeps destroying the schedule. I know it goes back to a best of three at some point but I wonder when that is?

I was interested to see what effect the long delay to start had on either team. I am with you that the pitcher for Caldwell Co. was nothing short of awesome (Spencer Greer). Wealth of talent and a great kid. Salutatorian from South Caldwell actually and wants to go to UNCC to get a education. This might be it for his baseball career.

Spencer Greer you say, that kid being a lefty could pitch anywhere. UNCC should take a good look. He looked better than guy just findinga great night. With the steady rain for the first three, he pitched mind over matter, very impressive. (I just happended to be a 2 year All-Conf. lefty back in the early 80's) That's why I totally dug his swag....

The way I understand it...you are right... it goes back to the best of three if not completed in time to stay on schedule. If three games not completed then it goes back to who won the first game. That's why that first game is even more important to win...this is not written in stone mind you...just the way I understand it...

Sumo...When is your next series schedule to start??

Not sure when it is scheduled to start but we would be on the same schedule as everyone else with the "have to start date"
