Dang....AWood nearly tossed a no hitter. If it wasn't for catcher10 jinxing him he would have.:lach:

AWood clearly dominates that level of baseball. He was a consistent 94-95 (at the knees)...then dropped his changeup and a good CB...well, he was nearly unhittable.

One can't help but believe even the Braves didn't realize how good he is right now. I know they have a plan for him and they don't want to rush it, but.....this level of baseball is not going to make him better.

Oh well, he will finish up this year at Single A, go to instructional league in the fall; then to ML camp in the spring; get assigned to AA....then the countdown is on.

One of the most impressive outings I have seen at this level in quite some time. Great job, Woody!

    Nice

It was really fun watching him from pre-game flat ground to the mound. 2H, 1BB, 1R in 5IP. Cruised in mid innings. Wish I had charted it. Nice temperature. Nice ballpark. Nice seats. Nice pitching performance. :coolgleamA:

Thanks for letting us know about the game. Did anyone see the catcher catch a FB in the chest protector? Ouch. Also curious who requested "Who let the dogs out" as a warm-up song? Very thoughtful.

Yes..ouch...but that kid is tough. The catcher was Ryan Query, a Kannapolis hometown boy. I believe Ryan went to NW Cabarrus and I know he went to Catawba. Great kid, great catcher and I hope he gets more playing time.

Ryan actually attended AL Brown HS in Kannapolis before a great career at Catawba College, and yes hes a fine young man. Come on back out Sunday night Braves, maybe I'll see you there.

I'll take the blame. I did text T that Awood had a no no in the 4th, but I never said it out loud! Woody looked good, nice to see the gang again.
