I was there today, Braves. Probably won't make a return trip this weekend unless Stretchy picks me up one day on the side of I-40.

A huge S\O to DownSouth or whomever runs the nclegionbaseball site. That is a very good site with a lot of dedication to the kids. Thanks for helping to promote Legion baseball.

Caldwell County vs Cherryville, WCSL 1590AM whatsupshopper on USTREAM. Radio

See the worst call in baseball made here. Go to the 1hr 53min mark. Hard to see, but easy to see runner is out. The ball beat the runner to the plate. The Cherryville announcer even said he was out. You can clearly see the catcher is already back on warning track and umpire calls runner safe. Bobby Dale runs all the way down and gets call reversed. Hope this umpire never calls again!

    GO CALDWELL!!

CHERRYVILLE vs WILMINGTON today for the State Championship. Cherryville has to beat Wilmington twice.

Good luck to both teams. Two best teams in the state, two very tradition rich teams, and two very well coached teams. Post 100 fans will outnumber the heck out of Post 10, but it will be a great atmosphere. Will the Caldwell fans be pulling for Area IV or Area II?

I was told that the catcher did not secure the ball and it came loose on the tag, which Bobby Dale pointed out. Not true? Gotta love the intensity of this rivalry. Wish Legion ball in the Raleigh area would take notes.

No way Cherryville beats Wilmington twice. Wilmington has a very good baseball team and your right...well coached. Carolina Man is going out on a limb here ...Wilmington wins first game 8-3 and will win the state title

Thanks for showing your ignorance regarding the rules. The ball came out of the glove on the follow through. In a real baseball game they call the player safe when the catcher drops the ball. Pretty easy call to make when the ball is laying on the ground.

No ignorance on my part. I was a catcher for 14 years. Bottom line is Caldwell didn't score enough runs. It was a great game no matter the outcome.
